"Swiss Air" by Steve Queralt & Emma Anderson
Been listening to this new track “Swiss Air” by Steve Queralt and Emma Anderson, one of the limited edition 7 inch singles being released as part of Sonic Cathedral’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
I’m intrigued by the sound of synth horns in “Swiss Air”. It’s persistent. It’s triumphant. Not sure what else to call it, though will admit that the words 'regal womp womp’ came to mind initially. [sorry, that’s not a bad think in my mind!] It kept reminding me of something I couldn’t quite place and then it came to me after listening with headphones: “The Final Countdown” by Europe.
I like it.
I realise I’ll never be admitted entry to another Ride show ever again in my life after making this comparison and saying the words ‘regal womp womp’ in relation to one of the most solid bass players out there. But… I say what I want to… and truth is Steve is building a track record of solo ventures that surprise and delight - and that is pretty darn cool!
It’s been nice knowing you all, keep me posted on future Ride shows [womp womp].
