"Landing In Rome" by Tremours
“Landing In Rome” by Tremours was a song I added to a playlist for a flight between Amsterdam and Boston. Tremours’ album Fragments was recommended to me by a listener and that playlist became episode 26 of blank mood. Later, after my flight, I learned from Tremours’ vocalist and guitarist Lauren Andino, the ideas and emotions behind the song.
“Landing In Rome” is a song about tumultuous times and making it through them,” said Lauren. “Not so much the major type of life changing events, but the little day-to-day ones that happen often and have a way of feeling so significant at the time,” she explained.
Lauren also noted that the title of the song is a metaphor for making it through to the other side, so to speak.
“It’s sort of a reminder to breathe and get through it, hang on when you can, and don’t panic when you can’t,” Lauren said.
Hear Tremours live in Europe this summer - they have shows scheduled in Italy and France, as well as a few dates in the UK. Also, Fragments is available on vinyl via Bandcamp or Little Cloud Records - it’s a nice looking green vinyl pressing. There’s other Tremours goodies at the merch section of their Bandcamp - I love the Tremours ghost!
